Monday was full of work and things to catch up after the weekend… I´m still thrilled to have seen Scottt Schuman The Sartorialist, in person and talk to him in Peru Moda this year. It´s amazing to meet the person who inspired me to make this blog. In fact, I had so many questions in my head, but one of them was, what does “sartorialism” means to you? And he responded it was well-dressing, tailoring. And then, he asked, why The Art Sartorialist? So I responded that (the way I see it), being well-dressed is a form of art. Maybe, some of you may not think fashion is art, but if photography, sculpture or even a melody is art, why not the idea of mixing our own pieces be a form of art? Anyway, this subject has been debated by the highest members of Fashion all along history, and as Miuccia Prada once said: “Fashion is art, Fashion is not art… At the end, who cares???”
Zara White Skorts
Zara Black Blouse
Zara Statement Necklace
Steve Madden Nude Pumps
Zara Black Blazer
Leopard Print Scarf
Zara Nude Studded Booties
Zara Black Clutch
Two outfits, one skort. In these outfits I´ll show you two different ways to combine the skorts. I decided to use them in this post, even if they´re not the IT piece, anymore. So, in my first outfit I opted for a more casual and classic way of using them, with a statement necklace and nude pumps. And in my second outfit, I opted for an “edgier” version of the outfit, combining them with the leopard scarf, black blazer, studded booties and my favorite Chaplin-wannabe hat! I´m a hat person so I love hats, as long as you feel comfortable and project that in your look,(as Miuccia Prada said): “(…) Who cares?“
With Easter Eve and the long weekend upcoming, I’m sure we’ll all have an amazing end of the season and the start of a new one! Here in Lima, we can say goodbye with a smile on the face and so many good memories! Yes, drinks on the beach, ceviche, pisco sours, ice creams and sand on our feet! I´m going to miss all that!
I took these photos in my house, almost at night and the lighting was fatal… but, as I was chilling on the couch and relaxing and checking some Instagram pics…. Then, I went with the idea of creating an outfit inspired in music festivals, great for pool parties or bbqs in the beach. So I opted for this handmade crochet trikini in an amazing purple-vine color that I adored, and some high-waisted shorts. If we don´t want to feel too exposed, we can go for a tunic over and it’s really light and comfy. To give it an even more “festival” look, I put on this flower crown that can be handmade easily (Pinterest is definitely a good idea). And then, my favorite Schutz boots. I love the rocker-hippie vibe it gives to the whole look. Finally, the straw bag… and let´s get ready for the party-party!
I know we may not be in Coachella or any music festival around the world. But why not try and get a little inspiration in streetstyle photo festivals, and create our own-inspired outfits?
In this outfit I used two new-pieces in my closet: The Black Vest and the suede hat. What’s good about this “oversized” vest is that it can turn from day to night in a click! Black&White combos are everywhere from Paris to NYC, reinventing with new proposals. I’ll keep adding new pieces to my Wishlist before going to sleep… Have a great week!
First of all, sorry for my lack of communication during these few days… It’s been difficult for me to post anything since I got back from Sao Paulo and let me tell you: WOW Brasil, the parties!!! #OMG. Anyway, I had the absolute pleasure to meet the creator and owner of Schutz, Brasil’s top brand of shoes. I’ll soon post THE boots for this season coming. Anyway, here in Lima, the fashion agenda has been quite amazing: Lif Week, Lima Fashion Week, has started. Top designer Ani Alvarez-Calderon showed us gowns that were to die for, from the fabrics to design and perfect cut. Also, there were new upcoming designers like Talia Berckemeyer, which I know we’ll be seeing more of her…. I’ll keep you updated with more details on LIFWeek on my FB Page!
Casual Friday Pencil Skirt
Zara Black Blazer
OKA Jewelry Rings
Calvin Klein Aviators de StyleUp
In this post I decided to go for an IT piece, seen from runway to streetstyle: The Pencil Skirt. Eventhough, I’m quite petite and my waiste is not as tiny as I’d like, pencil skirts really give that sexy but not slutty vibe that mini skirts do… and they are much more flattering to pear-shaped bodies. I mixed it up with nude pumps, but black were also a good option. Finally, crop tops! They are a must in every wardrobe this season, and the season coming! So if you don’t feel like showing too much skin, a good way (that is flattering and will work for sure!) is mixing it up with a blazer over the shoulders, this will definitely play a “Hide & Show” way, without being too obvious! Hope this helps and be sure to include a lot of Abs-Workout this month! Have a great week!
